VENICE WATER TAXI

If you don’t want to transfer on a crowded and quite slow Vaporetto water taxis are an option for transportation around Venice and from/to the airport. They can be considered the limousines of Venice and can hold up to 10 people.
Water taxis link Venice Marco Polo Airport directly to the centre of the City: St. Mark’s square, Rialto bridge, Railway Station Santa Lucia, Piazzale Roma Car Terminal and Lido island.
At the airport, many water taxis will be waiting to transport passengers, however in Venice centre, sometimes you may have to order a water taxi by telephone in advance.

You can decide for example to call a water taxi when you are leaving your hotel and need to reach your parked car in Piazzale Roma. Water taxis will be taken directly to your hotel or, if not possible, to the nearest accessible dock. Or you can simply decide to call one to have a private trip around Venice canals.

WATER TAXI RATES:

Water taxis are very convenient but cost significantly more than the Vaporetto. As example costs, the fare between Marco Polo Airport and a hotel in central Venice is around 100 euro (but if you are more than 4 passengers the price will increase) while from Railway Station S.Lucia or Piazzale Roma to hotels in Venice historic centre is around 65 euro.

WHERE TO FIND A WATER TAXI:

- Marco Polo Airport: you can walk or take a private car to the water taxi station (follow signals). The walk takes around 5-10 minutes.
- Santa Lucia Railway Station, Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto parking: water taxis are down by the water.
- In Venice you can also call for a water taxi by phoning for example the "Consorzio Motoscafi Venezia" at 041 522 2303 (24 hours a day) or "Veneziana Motoscafi" at 041 716 000 or "Venice WaterTaxi" at 041 522 9040.
